SAIT ranked as one of Canada’s top research colleges: Third year in a row

SAIT is one of Canada’s top three research colleges. This recognition on RE$EARCH Infosource’s Top 50 Research Colleges list is part of the annual Canada’s Innovation Leaders report.

In addition to claiming third place overall, SAIT was ranked first on the Top 10 Research Colleges Partnering with Companies list — a new addition to the report.

“Applied-research partnerships are a strategic priority at SAIT,” says Alex Zahavich, vice-president of Corporate Development and Applied Research. “We formed Applied Research and Innovation Services over ten years ago to bring researchers, students and industry partners together to develop new or improved technologies for the marketplace.”

SAIT was the number one research college on the inaugural ranking in 2013, and has remained in the top five since.

An average of 250 students a year enhance their applied-education experience at SAIT, by engaging in applied research projects during their studies. In the past five years, more than 575 projects have resulted in 400 prototypes.
