World Oil Magazine, for nearly 100 years, has provided readers with global coverage of the latest information and technological advances in the energy industry.
At the 14th annual World Oil Awards – Charting a Path to the Future – the industry’s best and brightest minds and technologies were nominated in eighteen award categories.
SAIT’s Applied Research and Innovation Services (ARIS) department was a finalist in two of the categories.
In the Best Health, Safety, Environment/Sustainable Development – Onshore Award category, ARIS and its Environmental Technologies research team was recognized as a finalist for its Modular Frac-Flowback and Produced-Water Treatment Train technology. And, in the Innovative Thinker Award category, Environmental Technologies’ senior research associate Vita Martez was recognized as a finalist for her work with industry partners on applied research in the area of clean-energy technology development.
“I’m humbled to hear of both nominations and find it rewarding that there is recognition of SAIT’s credibility in applied research outside of Canada,” said Martez. “Being a finalist also recognizes how challenging our projects are –– they all require innovative thinking and a team effort.”
